Down for Learning started with a simple idea: break big goals into microsuccesses, and build the coaching relationships that help people actually get there, whatever their starting point.
Down for Learning grew out of years spent working across medical education, academic advising, and student success, and seeing the same truth show up again and again: people succeed when goals are broken into small, achievable steps, celebrated along the way, and supported by someone who believes in them.
That truth applies just as much to a learner with Down syndrome building independence and life skills as it does to a pre-health student trying to figure out the right major, the right study system, and the right path into medicine. Different learners, different goals, same method.
Down for Learning is a microschool and coaching practice built around that method. We keep sessions small, personal, and focused, whether that means a life skills class, one-on-one academic tutoring, family advising, or coaching a future physician through their next application.

We start from what a learner can already do, and build forward from strengths rather than gaps.
Skills stick when they're practiced, not just explained. Every session is hands-on.
We work alongside families, schools, and students, not around them, so support carries through everywhere a learner shows up.
